A friend of mine had it done. There are varying degrees of ptosis, but it's generally a good eye surgery to reduce asymmetry, even if only a small one. (I'm talking about unilateral ptosis.) Furthermore, bilateral ptosis obstructs vision and creates the appearance of UEE. It would be quite effective for the second variation I mentioned.
