Someone over at r/teachers said it was a very realistic portrayal of classrooms in America. So I just watched this because of the classroom scenes but I skimmed through the eps as well. Apparently the writer of the series was a soldier-turned-teacher and he said going into the classroom made him feel like he was back in the Vietnam War again. Lol at comparing a classroom to a war zone. Anyway yeah what did you guys think of season 4?

Going to watch it before sopranos, my friend told me watching sopranos first is a mistake since the soporanos mogs the shit out of it writing wise to the point that the writing flaws in the wire become extremely obvious
On episode 5 right now

Episode 5 of season 1 or season 4? I haven’t really watched The Sopranos except for the first few eps a few years ago.

So many people are saying it’s the best season of television. If you ask me, True Detective season 1 holds that title. I’m a sucker for murder mysteries/detective shows.

it's a widely held opinion but they're not lying about 4 being the best season.

It’s so rare for a season other than the first to be regarded as the best, is it not? Or is that only the case for movies? What did you think of S4 yourself?

watching shows, i haven't even noticed that. to be fair i do watch more films compared to shows. idk wym by the movie thing but ordering them i'd have to go 4, 3, 1, 2, 5. not that i think 2 sucks, i think its underappreciated, just can't compare to 1 in my eyes.

They usually say that sequels suck, especially for horror movies, but that there’s exceptions. Terminator 2 is seen as the superior movie to the original. What are your favorite movies?

makes a lot more sense now. still havent tuned into terminator yet. some of my favs id say are taste of cherry (1997), la haine (1995), city of god (2002), kill bill (duh), and i've always been fond of the garfield spider man movies.

What about the 2000s Spider-Man movies? I grew up on those. I haven’t watched the Garfield spider-man movies myself.

Why is that? What’s the link between the two?
In my case i watched The Sopranos Then Oz then The Wire in that order, they are not correlated but i personally enjoyed watching those series in that order, Same with Better Call Saul i watched it before Breaking Bad

Fun fact: it took me almost a decade to finish Breaking Bad. I watched up til season 3 in 2011. And then I watched the rest of the season, and the next two seasons in 2019.

Oh yeah, I saw Bodie’s death but didn’t see Bubbles’ suicide attempts. Do you think it’s an accurate portrayal of American society in urban cities or..? Because a 14 year old doing that seems wild.

i live in a white suburb in new jersey so i personally wouldn’t know how accurate it is to real life. but the consensus is that it’s very realistic too actual west baltimore and gangs using young children for their crimes is defiantly pretty common

That’s wild. I’m in Europe and there’s no way that would be happening here. Exception would be UK and their stabbings but generally the only people here with guns are those drug dealers type of guys. And there aren’t too many of them here.

the tobey movies i enjoyed. i grew up on tasm so i guess that's the reason im so fond of them, 1 especially. they genuinely so much potential if marc webb had more creative freedom. its something i've thought for the longest because like raimi, webb grew up a fan of spidey and he directed 500 days of summer. there's this yt vid from warpingfist about the marketing of 2 that i really liked. in a just world, avi arad would be flayed.

Raimi is great, he brought The Grudge to western audiences which had a lasting impact. And yeah makes sense that you like it more since you grew up on it, same goes for me but with Toby.

to me raimi's movies worked because they not only got someone with a genuine love for the source material, he also has good body of work before doing spider man. while we on the topic u into comics? if so have u read the first run of ultimate spider man?

I’m glad I don’t live there but part of me is interested to experience American classrooms. So many teachers there complain about the education system.

I’m not really into comics, no. I prefer moving media. So movies, tv shows or anime. And no, I haven’t read it; can I find it online?
