Total Testosterone: 33 nmol/L (952 ng/dL)
SHBG: 50 nmol/L
Calculated Free Testosterone: 440 pmol/L (12.7 ng/dL) → ~1.33% free
Estradiol (E2):
<0.04 nmol/L (<10.9 pg/mL)

My profile: 27 y/o. Never been on test or androgens or anything. No gymcelling. Finasteride use on and off.

I posted on the off-topic earlier and had a good discussion with one user but thought this might be the more suitable place.

Offtopic discussion so far

how much bf are you? e2 is made in fat cells. E2 that low is linked to a shit ton of diseases.

Is your bf% low?
Few potential causes: as your free T is mid range it could just be low aromatase activity. Also, finasteride could also potentially indirectly cause it to lower as DHT suppresses SHBG, so: lower DHT -> higher SHBG -> less free T to convert to e2.

I cant diagnose the issue as im not very good at natural bloodwork

With that said, imo you most likely just have abnormally low aromatization causing a positive feedback loop at the hpta leading to cranked T levels but low e2

This could slso be it.
I dont really know the ranges of free T

under 13% I assume. No love handles, flat tummy.

yes, bf% is on the lower side. Conservative estimate is 13%, it could be lower than that.

With a bit of my own research, I too narrowed it down to, either:
1. naturally low aromatase activity
OR
2. high shbg -> lower free T -> low E2 conversion (I'm a bit sceptical on this one)

Thanks, this could explain why T is on the higher side of normal for someone with my lifestyle.

Do you think its down low aromatase expression or fin?
Probably a mix, neither should crash it to 10pg/ml>= on its own
the big mistake on my part, I didnt test my levels before hopping on fin. I could go off for 3 months and retest the levels, idk if that would be enough to restart the aromatization (if fin caused it in the first place). I am starting to believe most of my energy and mood issues arise from low E.

Have you always had these issues?

I think it’s gotten worse with time. I will try to talk with the endocrinologist or an urologist but it’s very difficult to find one thats actually competent lol

fin would have increase the e2. It stops dht production. SO more free t is made and more e2 aswell I have bloods that prove this. Rather if your really worried about it you could supplement dhea. I have seen mutiple reddit threads on people bringing up crashed e2 with this. SHBG is fine on the high side but low shbg is associated with diseases. You could take boron/zinc as well to lower the shbg, which will allow for more sex hormones to be unbound, but more free sex hormones unbound can lead to more acne/hairloss/etc but its all dependent on genetices.

Here’s my other sex hormones. Are DHEA and DHEA-S same? DHEA-S seems to be in range.

View attachment 4023878Not misinformation, altho you’re right it’s actually probably more likely for an increase, doesn’t make it not a potential tho.
i agree sorry i used casue=effect mindset. Tbh everyone is different and he could have his shbg up

idk the diff between dhea or dhea-s could be a per-cursor idr. But the dhea supplement would likely cause e2 increase, that Is what i have seen across reddit.
