Go local. Find youtube channels that are small/are used for marketing for a company. SMEs are good. If it is a shit channel, email over a demo of how you edit: get a nice domain with your name and build a portfolio on it, and present your work and experience. Let them know you would love to help them. Don't talk about pricing. If they think you're worth it, they will pay you. Do this with as many businesses you like until it sticks. Remember real money is made in working out what people want. Maybe what I've laid out isn't the most optimised plan. Maybe you can find a better way to find the money. Think strategically and don't be put off my apprenticeships. Being an apprentice is a symbiotic relationship with the master in the field. Maybe you're trying to break into media - try media companies and work to help them - possibly for free to start, and they will return the favour in lifelong skills you can sell to other people and use to create your empire.
