I watch lots of different shit man, anime, brazilian soap operas, russian series, really old black and white movies, etc.... Children's cartoons are no exception, especially when it's in a language that i want to learn. Miraculous isn't (or wasn't) as dumb as it looks, the earlier seasons of the show are actually pretty alright.

It has a pretty cool nighttime paris aesthetic vibe to it

Seriously, the show might not directly touch on politics, but it's the small things you notice. The number of woke tropes just keeps piling up as the show gets worse.

In the beginning it wasn't like that at all. Marinette had flaws beyond being "quirky, clumsy and relatable", the spotlight was more evenly balanced between ladybug and cat noir and they used to gracefully complement each other. But as time went on, Cat Noir got increasingly pushed into the sidelines and made to be an incompetent clown and Ladybug became increasingly a miss perfect Mary Sue.

Every single male character is either villainous, foolish, or is stripped of their masculinity. Why must it be like this? It's hard to not see it as a direct attack on masculinity. They have this woke anti-male agenda. Naturally, there are also bad female characters like Lila and Audrey, but for each one of those there are plenty of positive female role models to compensate. Meanwhile there are zero positive male role models in the show.

List of villainous and / or foolish male characters:

Mayor Bourgeois is a corrupt wimp

Officer Roger is an incompetent idiot

Bob Roth is the "evil capitalist"

Adrien’s body guard is an ogre barely capable of thought while Nathalie is highly intelligent and capable.

Jagged Stone is an irresponsible deadbeat (His female assistant is a hard working angel and Luka's mom is a loving parent tho)

The principal is a stupid loser (Miss Bustier is just great tho)

Marinette's Grandpa is an intolerant bigot (Her grandma is youthful and awesome tho)

Nino is a loudmouth dumbass who thoughtlessly revealed his identity (Meanwhile Alya is super careful, responsible and capable)

Kim and Ivan are both masculine looking guys. Kim looks like a jock and Ivan looks like a bully. Of course they'd make Kim into the class clown and Ivan into a gentle idiot.

Felix, Adrien's confident and masculine counterpart is evil. As if being masculine and evil walk hand-in-hand. That's what they're portraying in the show. This notion that all masculinity is toxic.

Even when you look at Gabriel and Nathalie, Nathalie is the compassionate one who cares for Adrien and is only going along because of her love for their family. Even Emily herself expressed that she didn't want this. Gabriel is the selfish one who wants to wreak havoc at all costs and even sidelined his goal to continue being a villain. It wasn't always like this. Gabriel used to be goal driven and clever. Now he's turned into a total edgelord who just wants to win against Ladybug.

Now onto the examples of male characters who are stripped of their masculinity:

Luka is a sedated cuck who passively accepted Marinette choosing Adrien over him and went on to become her gay bestie who is her emotional support tampon and helps her get with Adrien. Zero self respect as a man. Embarrassing to watch.

Nathaniel used to have a crush on Marinette and the dream of being a cool hero who saves her. He was a bit of a shy beta, but he had a masculine ambition. Now they just straight up turned him gay and he spends his time sitting under a tree drawing with his femboy boyfriend.

Max is the typical nerd. Nerds aren't exactly alphas, so I wasn't going to say anything about him. But the fact that the writers had Marinette beat him in video games was really a punch in the gut. Like damn, a man isn't allowed to have a single W in this franchise, not even nerds who spend all day playing video games can win against miss perfect.

Adrien is extremely cowardly and feminized. I can't even count how many times they've stripped Adrien of his masculinity. From having him portrayed as a crossdressing damsel in distress, to having him crying like a wimp at the prospect of having hurt a mass terrorist.... it's way too dumb. I'm not going to continue bc this is already too long and i could write an entire essay on him being a submissive simp. His beta-ness irks my skin.

Alec was a confident and masculine TV host, they flipped a switch and he found his "true self" which was a flamboyant drag queen. They're not even trying to hide their agenda at this point...

The only example of a male character who is still masculine and doesn't fall into those stereotypes is Marinette's father. That's it. He has immunity because having perfect parents in love with each other is part of what makes Marinette a Mary Sue.

The show loves to make female characters abnormally strong and put them in a role that emasculates men. I'm not just talking about ladybug with Cat Noir. Look at Nora, Alya's sister, who is a jacked woman on steroids (Looks like a literal olympic power lifter) and makes fun of Nino so he feels insecure about his masculinity and his role as the protector of his girlfriend.

Also Kagami being the strongest swordsman in a room full of men when in the real world they'd be separated by sex and the women wouldn't be able to compete with the men. They love to show men as weak feminized clowns and I'm tired of it.

Just look at the New York Special... The main New York heroes were literally genderbent superman and batman in a lesbian relationship along with their two daughters. Not a single male hero. Meanwhile the enemies were a burly man and Hawk Moth to symbolize that men = bad.

And in the Shanghai Special the main bad guy is another "evil capitalist" man exploiting an innocent girl who only turned to crime because she's a victim of her circumstances and ended up making amends later... Please.

I can't be the only one who sees this agenda, it's too blatant.
