In this video you can hear the various accents from every single province of Italy.

The accents from the far north are very sophisticated and endearing, while the ones from the south, and from Sicily, are off-putting.

This contrast is very enlightening. It kind of reminds me of the difference between the 'untouchable' southern Indians (Dravidians, etc.) and the ones from the north, lol:

Does hindi count

That accent is definitely from some Sicilian province, you know, the type of accent Americans think all Italians have, JFL.
Nigga If they don’t sound like Mario it’s not Italy that’s just France or Germany at that point

Dude, listen this THIS accent from the Bolzano region of northern Italy. It's so tight, it almost sounds like a foreign language:

el pizza mama mia

So you don’t care about hindi?
I guess Hindi, which is spoken in the north of India, sounds better than Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam, which are spoken in the south? But those are distinct languages or dialects, aren't they? All the accents in the video I shared are in the same language-- Italian.

What's your favorite provincial Italian accent? @Donquixote @Darkeningstar @the BULL @Thinking_CEL

I like several from the far-north, including the provinces within Val D'Aosta, Piemonte, Lombardia, Bolzano, Trentino Alto Adige, Veneto, Fruili Venezia-Giulia.

Honorable mentions: Emilia Romagna and some provinces within Toscana.

As you start moving south of those major regions, the accent becomes increasingly less elegant.

Lombardia, Toscana, Emilia Romagna, Liguria, Campania
My preference varies whether the speaker is male or female

I don't hear that resemblance at all, unless you're referring to the Sicilian accents. The northern ones sound closer to French and Catalan Spanish.
