I use the Vit-C + Arbutin and it doesn't burn at all.

I take Vit C as a supplement. It appears to have improved my skin greatly. It's also good because the body can use it for whatever it needs to include boosting immune system. And it can use it to build collagen all over your skin, instead of only where you apply it.

I don't do many supplements because too much of many vitamins is harmful, but from everything I've read the liver filters out any extra vitamin C you don't need. Obviously if you do too many supplements you'll damage your liver, which is why I only do a few thing at a time and don't drink etc., but Vit C is has a favorable cost/benefit ratio.
