I wasnt the popular kid in my year, but I was the popular kids sidekick JFL. I made people laugh and had got along with all people - the emos, the hot girls, the sporty kid, the nerd, the bully, the bullied and the loner.

Life was good. I had status, respect, people wanted to befriend me (but I already had too many) and had a life.

I've had a massive descent since leaving school (post-16+). Going to college/university, felt like a pressing a reset button on my social life. Most people from my HS would probably be surprised how I turned out to be aspie. I still nostalgiamaxxx by thinking about these times..

Me

I was the most popular kid at my 8-10th grade in the entire school and even the middle school kids mirined me too for all the felicitation and awards I had received in extra curriculum activities (not mentioning which).

The IOIs and the approach count was ridiculously high. I used to be stared as if I am an alien of some kind.

Call me the @curlyheadjames of my school if you want to kek. There was a time I couldn’t just walk alone to washrooms too cause half the boys were gas lighters who envied my early age achievements and some others planned on beating up for absolutely no reason at all but with full of jealousy

But then I shifted my school to another place for 11th and 12th and the pandemic hit and I was nothing but a bloated fat fuck joke.

I just said high school because of Yankees here.

In the UK we have secondary school (12-16), then college/sixth form (16-18) and then uni (18+).

All three of these stages can change you. Only secondary school is compulsory.

Over for pandemicels.

If I grew up in this period I'd be suifeul.

I was pretty autistic looking back. I just kept to myself and was pretty lazy and rude. Would just go back home to game and chill, rotted a lot too. Was pretty low inhib and did a lot of funny things though. End of 10th grade, I started to be a bit more social. Ironically the pandemic happened right after lol. Didn't bother talking to anyone during it, and when senior year came and the pandemic ended I just ditched all my classes, since it didn't matter much anymore.

I was pretty grateful for the pandemic back then, but thinking of it now, it definitely made me more aspie and lazy. These days I don't have much of a social life at all, though I'm returning to college so it can potentially change. Not sure if I want it to though, I guess we'll see depending on the people there.

im in college and high school was so much better even tho i looked like complete dogshit in hs (buzz cut, not shaving, etc etc). people are so flakey and fake in college. in hs i just accumulated a shit ton of friends and acquaintances from elemetnary and middle school. now im in college i have no idea how to socialize and make friends.. i literally just go to lecture and leave and repeat. nt pill is real

yeah i was quite literately the most popular kid in my school when i joined its like getting validation every few seconds, the girls all over you, all the boys aswell and the above and below years used to shout my name in corridors and asked for fistbumps and shit but you cant maintain that kind of popularity it was insane.

Extremely good thread OP, happy to see someone finally talk about this situation because it sounds like nonsense unless you've experienced it yourself.

The only conclusion I can make of it all is that everything ultimately boils down to luck. Maybe we were just in the right environment at the right time with the right people and everything flowed naturally, but our default state is that of a loner incel so when you take any puzzle piece away it all falls apart.

You often hear about the inverse too, where people were losers in high school and then randomly ascend in college. This definitely feels more common. Probably has to do with becoming better looking, but I look way better than my high school self but get nothing anymore so who knows.

What happened?

So you became an annoying quarrelsome retard in college.
It's more I ignored my friends to educationmacmaxx. Didn't want to get involved with the wrong crowd at uni so struggled to make any friends.

I attended a mostly white high school (student body was 95% white, 5% non-white in the first two years, then the last four years saw an increase of ethnics and it became 80% white and 20% non-white). I'd argue I was a popular. Many people knew me. Boys liked me. Girls liked me. Platonically. Of course, exceptions here and there but fuck them. I got invited by both boys and girls to their birthday parties.
