You'll get there. Just start upskilling and freelancing you'll learn a lot that way. Do you go to state school or private college? The fees is very high Ive hard. Ive always wanted to American uni but never got the opportunity.

You don't need a CS degree to break into tech honestly but it will be 10x harder and you'll have to show 10x the skills as someone with the degree to prove yourself but people still make it work. At workplace there are a few guys who majored in arts but are still in technical roles.
