Thanks. Yeah I'm studying engineering at a pretty good uni so that helps. My main thing was last summer I landed a job as an analyst at the 3rd largest bank in Canada (There's 5 big banks) and I got that through just nepotism ngl. As for my future I have NO IDEA what I want to do. You in uni too?

Incoming freshman in about 2 weeks but I’ve been involved in a bit of summer college program stuff

That’s interesting tho: engineering and analytics. I talked to a guy at deloitte, a big 4 accounting firm in the states, who studied industrial engineering and he said it actually wasnt as hard for the hiring people to make an overlap with industrial engineering and his consulting position.

What engineering discipline you studying and do you think it’s overlapping with your analyst position?

boring good pay

i liked the people. things move very slow. financial industry prefers stability over innovation

its just being able to socialize. lots of people in my cohort knew nothing about IT but were charismamaxxed. so every cert or skill i learned was pointless

i can give you a lengthier response later but you specifically just need to understand your field better and the business need for that role. put your head down and grind some projects/terminology, mass apply, you're already curious so interviews should be easy, you can have shitty answers but if you're curious about them and sound passionate it's free

my only internship was at citi so yes

yes the pay is good and cyber is very stable in fintech. this summer funded my future bimax

very fintech pays generously for doing nothing but refilling your water bottle and eating their free snacks. leadership is the only people who are actually busy. you're gonna spend 70% of your day in pointless meetings, 30% doing work that takes 5 minutes. msg i can say #

Ohh that’s sick. I’m in systems engineering so probably pretty similar to industrial engineering just a lot of math. I think since I worked a job in banking before that helped a lot since for jobs experience and connections is everything.
