circumcision isnt a requirement in islam, most people even fellow islamic people dont know this. it is, however, sunnah (the way of the prophet (peace be upon him)) so thats why people do it. but sunnah and fard (obligation) is different from each other. having said that, im glad i was circumcised.

buddy boyo ive done research. it is considered part of the fitrah but it isnt a requirement. neither quran nor ahadith instruct us to circumcise boys. but since we follow the way of the prophet (peace be upon him) we generally circumcise the boys. if i had a son i would have had him circumcised as well but not because out of religious compulsion since it doesnt require us to do it but because it looks a lot better when circumcised and because its clean. plus if he ever has phimosis in the future he would have had to be circumcised nonetheless. my friend had phimosis and got circumcised. but he also became a revert, ma sha Allah.
