they did everything they can to stop me from playing contact sports like soccer, basketball, ice skating, skiing only swimming allowed.

They’re in the right if you’re a kid or a basement dweller but if you’re just trying to relax I don’t understand what their problem is.

I "confronted" (more it came up in conversation) my mom about the fact that I'm going to have to spend several years to undo all the bad conditioning she placed upon me with her upbringing.

Then she went back to threatening suicide and abandoning me and my siblings.

Relatable. I've been getting threatened with abandonment by my mother since I was 8yo for simple shit as not eating the food she wants me to eat.

They will not listen to constructive criticism. They will not admit wrongs. It would be so easy if they just listened to feedback and improved, but guess what they won't.
