I've read multiple studies that say 1) first born children are taller, and that 2) a recent environmental factor for the general male height increase in society was that as total fertility declined more resources were distributed to the children those families did end up having.

It would make sense to me based on those facts that males who are the only child would end up taller than males who had to share resources, especially ones that might have been like the 3rd or 4th child.

I know finding clear data on this might present as difficult because of correlative factors, like rich people tending to not have a lot of kids and also having taller kids because of better nutrition.

Only Children of org, how tall are you? Growing up was your family rich/poor/working class/middle class? How old were your parents when they had you?

i'm currently 14, 6'3 I would say 1st children are taller because 2nd children come later one, the younger the parents are when breeding, the more growth I think there is.

This is definitely another factor to consider, I'll add that as a question.

Later siblings may be born closer together which can affect growth. and only children can attention max getting better nutrition, care, and fewer illnesses.

My father is 5'8"/174 cm tall and my mother is 5'4"/164 cm. I am 6'0"/183 cm tall. My parents are poor and I’m from a third-world country😭
