i started learning python about a week ago. there are good job opportunities that pay well and its possible that u make a game or app (solo project) that blows up. eg. shitty ass low effort roblox games. lmk what yall think

if you're at least mtn just be an influencer tbh , learn communication skills and be rich by just doing retarded stuff on social media. This is the best way to make money now.

no bro, the whole market is FUCKED coming from a cs major, DO NOT MAJOR IN CS, I absolutely love computers and opted for a major in cybersecurity instead after around 2 years as a cs major. you hear fucking horror stories about mfs who mog your gpa, experience, and projects who are struggling to get internships with 300+ applications. literally so fucking brutal

go into cybersecurity, it weeds out all the retards because it's arguably harder than CS, and shit there will always be cybersecurity jobs bro, you can always go freelance bug bounties in the long run if shit's really hitting the fan but even then it's unlikely

oh yeah? bro i thought programming is more versatile though so ur need for many different kinda of projects. is there really that much less ppl in cybersecurity to where its worth getting into. if so should i stop learning python andjs get into cybersecurity rn. for refrenxe im a junior in hs. 17

CompSci is easy asf to get a good career in if you actually do shit outside of uni work btw.
Majority of the people who say otherwise have never gotten an internship nor built anything themselves.

im in this rn
learnt basics of networking, basic C + java + python + some powershell

getting more into c want to parallely try c++, learnt http requests, proxy stff, socket etc.

no dont stop learning python, python is one of the most powerful language for ethical hackers. instead hone your focus and projects on more cybersec based problems. programming is very versatile, but everyone and their mother does it. if you're damn good at what you do, you may be able to get a job as a software engineer but I have a buddy who literally has 12+ years experience coding and cant get even an INTERVIEW for a internship position, mind you 12+ years is more than half of his entire life.

the problem with majoring in computer science is it's like majoring in business, you have no specialty. computer science is "a little bit of everything" and everyone knows a jack of all trades is a master of none. I opted cybersecurity because I find hacking fascinating and it interested me more than working mindlessly as a software engineer. ultimately don't stop programming, because programming is versatile like you said, just don't go into it expecting a job as a software engineer. programming as a whole can get your foot in so many different areas of study, just choose some niche that you enjoy and stick with it

bullshit, i'm the head of like 2 clubs at my uni, went to multiple hackathons over the past couple years and placed, have gotten literal certifications for my fields of studies and have plenty of projects to back my claims up. can't even get an internship let alone a fucking job as geek squad at best buy

yep, most importantly focus on your certifications, that's what really gets you creds AND teaches you all of this stuff in the process

comptia security+ is a good starter, look into it if you're serious about cybersecurity

No dont get into CS if you're in for the Money. The Competition is insane but contrary what a lot of people are saying here you still can get a job but you need to be cracked af and the pay is actually not that good anymore most companies have lay offs rn because they need less juniors since AI makes devs more productive also outsourcing to Asia where labor is cheaper is also a thing for CS type of jobs.
Just browse some cs career related subreddits and you will see for yourself. If you can get into healthcare way more foids there as well

yeah, i would go so far as to say you CAN major CS, but minor in cyber too. you'd be surprised, a minor in cyber can get you further into a career path than a damn major in computer science can, the only difference is you get to have more options if you major in comp sci versus in cyber. RIGHT NOW get your foot in the door and learn the basics of networking and start familiarizing yourself with common tools used by ethical hackers. even if you're not going into ethical hacking you can still learn a lot from the concepts. get a kali linux VM going and start up on hackthebox or vulnhub and go from there.

basically any "fun" major has a fucked career market rn. everything boring/niche/autist is where you can actually land a well paying job - healthcare, engineering, etc - all really complicated and are much less exciting than coding stuff or designing something aesthetic or whatnot but all those positions are already taken by an another matcha lavender caramel double ice latte drinking gen z nigga

ye i been in hackthebox server for a while. i was gonna start their course, i didnt know if i should be red teaming or blue teaming though. explain the differences in job opportunities, competition, pay, ease of getting a job, and the actual work u need to do

well i know for sure that i cant. im one of the school's smart kids but frankly i never was into that advanced tech stuff. im going to major in cs (i live in russia) just because i like computers and ive no idea what to major in if not cs, because design is even worse in terms of oversaturation

ill do some research on engineering. shits a potential career path that i could get into. i js wanna start making money as soon as possible for obvious reasons but specifically hardmaxxing. thoughts?

realistic, engineering is unfortunately capped until you get out of uni cause obviously you're not gonna be engineering shit unless your employer knows you have a degree in it. i know for a fact there are ways to make money as a CS / cyber major before you even graduate. some are less ethical than others but in terms of coding you can do commission and such. for instance ROBLOX of all things, learn lua for a couple months hop in a dev server and crank out some commissions for some light money. cybersecurity like I said, bug bounties can pay well if you're good at it and usually you don't have to be certified at all.

if you plan to major in cs, consider getting into a niche minor as well (related to cs). idk how uni works in russia but minors are very easy to implement and change so if you don't like what you chose, you can always swap. this also lets you get out of those fuckass gen-eds that come with your first couple of years

so plan is learn lua and python while im still in hs and do comissions for roblox games then later switch to cybersecurity? or go all into cybersecurity right now giving me more time to develop than others so i can brutally mog and steal their jobs

lua is like verbatim english (easier than python), if you know basic code structure, you barely even have to learn lua. roblox commissions are good for easy money, especially while young, and opemn the door for many larger money making operations later on down the road. mfs hate on roblox coders but damn can they make money, mfs like jandel make upwards of 6 figures a month from his slop ass game.

you can definitely go all in cyber sec but only if you're confident in it. it can be tedious and looks like a lot to learn but once you start and get going it's really not that bad. study for the comptia security+ certification and if you like it by the end of that, then take the exam and get certified, if you DON'T like it, then move to something else. this is a good strategy cause it's not an entire waste of time if you don't like it, tech literacy will always be relevant and important regardless of what field you go into.

niggas make low effort ass roblox games that blow up and get 7 figures a year shits insane. its kind of like a gamble but its still good to get into. from my perspective programming seems so fucking complex like how are u supposed to code the characters animations, how they interact with environment, etc. 1 rpg or fps game has to be like atleast 50k+ lines of code. atp will u even know what ur doing, or am i just overexaggerting shit and it seems more complex since i dont know ANYTHING about cs. also how much could low-mid lvl roblox devs get paid

i meannnn you can make like 20k+ from literally 1k ccu over the span of a year. trust me, it looks tedious but it's really not. you can get away with coding slop pretty easily. once you code an idea once, it gets easier over time so just do it as much as possible. i've coded plenty of roblox games and such, never released any but I know how to get it done

not to mention, big development studios buy out games with the snap of a finger, if you make something good over the span of a couple months you can usually sell to some development studio for like $2k+. think about it, you spend a couple hours every day working on something, actively learning, publish it and sell it for like $2k+. I'd say that's a pretty good side hustle

best way to learn python is to do projects, could be literally anything, when i was starting out, I was doing shit like IP probers that scan for open ports and vulnerabilities on networks and such. just find something you wanna code and learn how to do it, that's the best way. if you're REALLY serious about it, you should be consuming all of your time into studying, but 2+ hours a day will put you further than most of your competition. i'd try to be fluent in java, c++, python and ideally c because it teaches good fundamentals and is a very low level language (only behind assembly really). you can attend hackathons starting now, essentially you show up, they give you a problem or a category, and you code based on that, and you compete with others where winners earn prizes (usually scholarships or vouchers). this looks amazing on your resume and helps you build versatile knowledge because you never know what you're gonna be coding. I'd try to go to in person hackathons rather than online, this is good for networking and shows your future employers you are very committed. like I said, build projects, this is more important than you think. your resume should include your best projects so make sure your projects stand out and are very impressive. you should also be networking and sharing ideas as much as possible with peers or others that share similar interest, join clubs (as disgusting as a CS club sounds, do it anyways). this will help you accumulate knowledge much faster, think about it. instead of just you learning, it's you and all your peers learning, and sharing that knowledge, much better for everyone involved. clubs also look very good on resumes. accept the reality that most of your peers do not shower, the stereotype exists for a reason, most CS motherfuckers lack basic hygiene and smell like ass, the worse they smell, the more cracked they are though usually jfl. essentially EVERYTHING you are doing in your college years is going to be building your resume, shit's like a videogame where you level up every stat before fighting the final boss, actually getting a job. this is the hardest part, it's immensely competitive and when you thought you were a good programmer there are mfs 10x better than you seriously struggling to get a job, you REALLY have to lock in bro. keep your grades UP AS FUCK, so you can get internships as soon as you're in college, this is one of the most important parts, don't take it lightly
