Trimax - ramieri said it's 15k for normal and 21k (all in euros btw), is the 6k extra worth it and what difference would it make?

I’m definitely not convinced the custom plates were worth it in my case.

In theory they reduce surgical risk and ensure accuracy, they probably have a bigger benefit if the surgeon is less skilled as the main thing they do is make it easier for the surgeon.

But for me, they didn’t even fit (never heard of this happening before) so Ramieri had to improvise during the surgery and only half my plates are customs.

I was interested in this too and i'm afraid it's not worth since software movements aren't always same movement on surgery table, you might pay 6k extra and not use custom plates at all because the movements are in reality different from what planned

interesting, would there be a significant difference in facial aesthetics/lower rates of relapse or whatever the problems are associated with jaw surgery?

no 0 difference, if in theory they are accurate all the times would be worth since otherwise you rely on surgeon skills to do proper movements but every surgeon can go wrong by 1-2 mm

hmm, so why do surgeons even include it what is it theoretically meant to do?
idk if it's more money for surgeons but in theory they are a good add-on if they are accurate then it's extremely precise movement if not you just burned your money. If you're ok with eventually wasting 6k you should add them

In a way, this was actually fortunate, because he decided to advance my mandible a bit more than what we had planned because in the operating room he made the judgment call that it would create a better aesthetic outcome. Had the customs fit, no deviation from the plan would’ve been possible.

I believe he also told me that most of his surgeries are performed without custom plates.
