Are humans by default evil?

Site isnt letting me reply to your post for some reason so here is my reply, so you would define good and evil as the firing of said nerouns? im not versed in neuroscience whatsoever so im pretty ignorant on the topic but I do feel that in this sort of belief it makes more sense to abandon said terms but that is just my opinion, psychopaths to me are just mentally ill and deformed mentally to the point where its impossible for them to be part of a social collective

Without external influence, humans are essentially creative primates with no regard for good or bad. It takes as much outside conditioning to shape a man into complete evil as it does to make him a moral person

humans are selfish

they would kill if consequences didnโ€™t exist
if laws werenโ€™t made
if there was no social stigma
no reputation to protect
no one left to judge them

no police, cameras, prisons, public opinion, religious guilt, family expectations, and a surprising number of people would act on their darkest impulses the moment it became convenient or profitable

What about experiments that prove babies experience empathy then?

We are actually born with a slight moral compass apparently

I feel like empathy has some genetic evolutionary basis behind it too and isnt just some quality that has to be learned

Children mimic the behavior of those within their environment, so if a child is exposed to evil, then they will probably be evil as well.

On the topic of this, I think reading genealogy of morality by Nietzsche does explore this topic to some degree, I would recommend you read it
