By "men" you likely mean men from 18-25. More so than any other issue it is because of mass immigration advocated by the left, where 70% of the illegal immigrants are young single men. If 70% of the immigrants were young single women, young men would be totally cool with mass illegal immigration. No one of the political left talks about this because the discussion alone would trigger young men, no one on the political right talks about the gender dynamics of it because they don't want to sound shallow, those on the right will occasionally mention the abundance of young single men as a security concern.
