No — painting nails isn’t inherently a “girls only” thing. Nail polish has been used by different genders across history and cultures. Today, plenty of guys paint their fingernails or toenails for style, self-expression, sports, fashion, music scenes, or just because they like how it looks.

You’ll see male athletes, musicians, actors, and regular people doing it. For example, Harry Styles, Machine Gun Kelly, and Caleb Williams have all worn nail polish publicly.

Toe nails specifically are also painted by some men, though it’s less common socially in some places. Some people do clear polish, black polish, colors, or just use it for grooming/protection. Whether something feels “normal” often depends more on culture, friend groups, and personal confidence than on any actual rule.

If you’re thinking about trying it, you don’t need to treat it like a big identity statement — it can just be fashion or self-care, same as a haircut, shoes, or jewelry.
