I don't really know how it feels to be insecure but I'd assume if someone feels insecure for too long, that feeling will always resurface sooner or later in specific scenarios... and that sounds brutal af. On the other hand, just smelling that something is fishy has happened to me in the past, but that was for other reasons (eg. not living together) and that's usually within reason. That feeling can fade away.
