Are social skills cope?

I don't even like talking to people that much but i know i have definitely missed a lot of opportunities not having social skills especially now that i am going to 10th. I thought it wasn't so bad and i wasn't missing anything too crazy until every time i open Instagram another one of my classmates r hanging out somewhere, partying, or something else (only God knows how many group chats i've been left out of). Is building social skills apart of accession? Or is it too late for me because I don't know why literally everyone around me could socialize and meet new people so quick and easily, but when I try to fit in and try to do the same thing it doesn't work out the same and I just end up being the weird outcast that is forgotten about. I'm I better off keeping to myself away from normies (which i really feel like doing) or am i better off socializing.
