Are the resident evil games ACTUALLY good?

I started on Resident Evil 2 Remake which I'm currently playing. Yes, it is good but I'm starting to get annoyed at how limited the game is with its scenary just doing laps around the Racoon City Police station atp.

I bought Resident Evil 4 which I haven't touched yet as I'm tryna finish 2 first.

Best thing to come out of this game is Claire Redfield holy

Please tell me I didn't waste my money
