I used to think that implants would naturally be better than fat grafts because you’re changing the underlying bone structure, but as I’ve done more research, I don’t see any real reason to look at implants for people with thick enough skin to prevent lumping.

Implants are way more expensive, have a higher botch rate, and usually need fat grafting on top of it to prevent implant show. Forumcels say that you need implants if your bones are the issue, but I’ve thought about how East Asians usually have flat maxillas but still have generally good eye areas in spite of their negative orbital vectors due to their fat deposits in the eye area. Why wouldn’t fat grafting be able to fraud good eye areas for non-asians too?

Idk this is just a retarded first post I wanted to make, but it just doesn’t make sense to do implants or implants + fat grafts when anybody with non-thin skin could get good results for way cheaper from soft tissue work alone.

Good question op. I think you dont need infras+fat graft both. Saddled infra orbital implants are best. But the surgeons who perform this are rare and high risk.
Can you post and example of your eye area. Maybe you might not need infra implants..if you have mild recession, im pretty sure fat graft can help. But rememember, implants can get you better squarer orbitals. But again, maybr you will botch if you unlucky
