Are there any female fiction writers that you like?

My mother sometimes listens to audio books clearly written by a woman because 90% of the content consists of internal thoughts/dialog that have nothing to do with the plot and don't do fucking anything to advance the story.

EDIT: Don't mention Harry Potter/Rowling. I know it's a popular series but it's hardly groundbreaking.
