Are there any ways to stop growing taller

I have just measured my self recently and am 6'4.3 and I've realised that i don't want to be any taller than 6'5 due to the fact that it will only hinder my Athletic abilities and become a chore in the long run. I have gone to a doctor and my growth plates are still open however is there any way to close them and stop growing taller without injuring myself. I know this post may be rope fuel for some but I also want to say both my parents are 5'6 and my brother at 19 is only 5' 10.7 so it is never over
