are there ways to know if you have tmj??

i used to chew a lottt of gum and then my jaw started clicking when i opened it like at all so i stopped but now if i move it sideways it still always clicks..

See an orthodontist. I’ve had clicking after a lot of chewing but if I take a break it goes away
