Obviously need to use cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen but what abt stuff like

Exfoliating scrub
Niacinimide
Vitamin C
Toners

Is there a point still of using serums and stuff like this or is tretinoin gonna fix it all?

fuck the toner
fuck the "scrub"

on tret you want to microneedle with HA then clense and moisturize in general youll irritate your face with sm stuff but niaciminade and vitamin c is very good

Have u seen results with vitamin c serum? Which one do you use if so?

so let me tell you what's useless and what's useful here

1) exfoliating scrub: useless. don't use it while you're on tretinoin AT ALL. tretinoin already does most of the exfoliation here and if you use a scrub anyways you'll fuck up your skin barrier.

2) niacinamide: useful. helps with irritation you get from tret, improves skin barrier, makes ur moisturizer work better, improves skin brightness.

3) vitamin c serum: yeah useful. actually proven to boost collagen albeit to a lesser extent compared to tretinoin, its an antioxidant, and supports in getting rid of pigmentation issues like PIH. altho u need to make sure ur getting it from a reputable brand because its effectiveness is very formulation-dependent. good formulations can get unnecessarily expensive compared to yield. so its optional.

4) toner: useless. there's better products out there.

a few things I do recommend

1) use azelaic acid. pairs perfectly with tretinoin its an all-rounder. anti-bacterial so less acne, helps with pigmentation, ant-inflammatory, helps w redness
2) ceramide products. they basically strengthen your skin barrier and supports with moisturizer. if you've dry skin this is practically mandatory. if you've got oily skin then not so much but still could be worth using.
