the numbers i'm getting are very sus

if they are remotely accurate, i could shed 2-3 kg of fat per week without even trying

doubtful. I’ve always felt the cals on those things are way inflated relative to the effort I have to give. I usually see estimates for running a mile as burning 100kcals more or less, so I figure the effort has to be comparable to that to see an equivalent calorie burn

yeah, that's why i'm asking.

there is no way i'm burning hundreds of calories by moderately (with my heart rate barely elevating) riding it for 20-30 minutes.

i guess it depends on the model too, but if those are remotely accurate, i could burn half a kg in one session if i was riding it on max resistance. way too good to be true.

You're doing something wrong if you're counting calories

It’s the best cardio method to burn large amounts of calories over a long period of time I usually do it for 2k+ calories burned

i mean it shows on the screen, and i just noticed the numbers seem too high considering 1 kg is what, 7.7k

i agree with you otherwise

Of course they are inaccurate. You can’t just do cardio and add it on top of your maintenance and expect that to be your new maintenance. Your body compensates and decreases your NEAT energy expenditure after doing cardio.

U shouldn't even look at the numbers on the screen tbh. They're inaccurate asf.

When doing cardio u should just focus on pacing yourself and sweating a little, its not deeper than that.

jesus christ, i didn't say i'm obsessing over it, it's just impossible not to see the numbers when you sit on a bike for half an hour

put a towel over it BOOM problem solved :feelshmm:

It's higher than what the number says typically

You burn extra calories as your body tries to achieve homeostasis post-workout

But at your state just dropping the alcohol or taking walks should shred you honestly
