When I first joined this forum, I made posts like “BP ruined me” and similar things jfl. At that time, I thought facial harmony was determined by fixed measurements. For example, I believed that an ideal mouth width should be a specific number of centimeters.
After spending more time here, I realized that facial harmony is actually based on proportions, meaning how one feature relates to another. For example, the ratio between nose width and mouth width, which I believe is around 1 to 1.6, unless I am mistaken.
The purpose of this thread is to ask whether there are similar proportional standards for overall body ratios.
For example, even if my head had perfect internal proportions, if it were three times larger than the average person’s head, I would obviously look uncanny.
So my question is this: are there established guidelines for how large the head should be relative to overall body size? In other words, are there ideal head to body ratios that determine whether someone looks proportionate or disproportionate?
