brain is just taking in all the information from stmuli perceivde by the outer portion of yourself
so, in a social sense, your brain adapts to how people treat you and that's purely based on skin layer / surface layer things
but, there's not only a visual component, there's an auditory component as well.
how you speak, what you speak about, etc.

that being said, I'd say, the internal is almost 90% a result of the external.
