on one hand, it will improve the quality of life for a huge amount of people and it could very well cause a huge new wave in innovation and record breaking if we see a much greater amount of genius level people
on the other, it will take a long ass time for it to roll out to everyone (if it ever does), and it will only be available to the rich, the average and poor person will absolutely be dusted job wise, socially and dating wise by those whos parents could afford genetic editing. you also run the risk of making the traits undesirable/barely attractive because they become so common and there will be less interestingness per person since many will be much more similar
