but then i just gave up on it idk why

My town has 2 chess grandmasters and chess is the favorite pass time for the unemployed, elderly and young. Everyone keeps playing chess all the time

My grandpa (mother-side) skipped classes to play chess with his friend. But also could have been my great grandfather... probably not.

Never really cared about chess. Personally it is a midwit's game. It is a way to flex intellect without having any for normies. Of course there are some really smart players too.
