Left handed people are vastly over represented in diagnoses for mental disorders. For example, autism, psychopathy (aspd), and being gay.

So I want to do an experiment. My theory is I would expect it to be more common on this forum over the general population, where it is about 10%.

Understand that the relation is not 1:1, but it is statistically significant. Eg I am aspie but right handed. Maybe you can also share your situation in the comments.

Another thing I personally observed irl is that I noticed left handed people tend to be more creative. Eg if someone in school would be very good at drawing I noticed there would be a higher chance of them being left handed. No idea if that’s really a thing that’s been studied but that was my personal observation.

In the past people were forced to use the right hand but it didn’t make them right handed so you can train a bit but not change it. It is a neurological thing

Oh interesting. My theory is there may be a link because left handed people have brain activity that is a bit different so for example this can be why they are more often ND but maybe it can also cause greater activity in the brain when it comes to fantasy and creativity

Ambidextrous is rare but in the stats it also has a similar link to mental conditions as being left handed so I grouped them. My grandfather was also ambidextrous and could play the piano really well

Guys we have 10 votes and it’s 40% lefty so so far the hypothesis holds true . Irl if you take 10 random people and ask this question there would only be a chance of 1.26% of ending up with 4+ lefties so indeed it seems like this forum has many more lefties than the general population. but it’s still too few votes to be reliable, so if you haven’t yet it would be cool if you could still vote so it’ll become more scientific
