Keep dreaming life is black and white like that. Doubts and maybes, realizing that solving a problem isn't a magical solution but will sometimes require shit ton of mental power and you're not Hercules my friend. Sometimes you will think there might be a solution, it would be super hard to get there but maybe it's not the solution at all.

While the modern stoic community has become quite cringe, similar to the nofap community, the core idea of stoicism is still essential for men, in my opinion.

You always have to be calm/stoic because most other people aren't like that (especially women), they are often very emotional and look to drag you down to their level.
And it's not just that, people will also try to use your emotions against you, whatever emotions you feel, be it fear, anger, despair etc.
When you're emotional, you're always at a disadvantage.

Emotions truly are the domain of women. As a man, you should never allow yourself to get too emotionally invested in anything/anyone.

This sounds like a good ideal to strive for but it’s impossible in practice. Just having wants in life are emotions. You look at things that make you happy and then you want to conquer them, whether it be a nice apartment, good looking woman or simply an ice cream.

Stoicism was something I used to strive for but as I’ve grown older it just feels futile. There is nothing wrong with expressing emotions in a healthy manner. This doesn’t mean you should lash out whenever you want, but just going with the motions isn’t living a notable life in my opinion.

I agree that you can never fully put emotions out of the equation, they're always going to be there in the end.
The most practical form might involve avoiding 'high' highs and 'low' lows as much as possible, as well as detaching yourself from the outcome in situations.

And you could potentially make some exceptions for those who are close to you as far as emotional investment goes.
The best approach will always be to invest in yourself first and foremost, as cheesy as it may sound.

The strength that we have as men lies in the fact that we can remain detached emotionally, especially when push comes to shove.
