Hey, me too, I used to read a lot of popular science books and biographies of famous scientists, inventors, etc., and I wanted to become one too, I would dream of discovering or inventing amazing things, become famous and get he Nobel prize, but as I grew up and started to study more advanced stuff, I realized it's much harder than I thought and most science is now done by corporations or big research labs, it doesn't work like in the old days when one guy could come up with an idea and discover or invent something in his basement.
