As hairline recedes, haircuts get scarier and scarier

I loathe getting haircuts now, the hairline is slowly going away even though I'm on min+fin religiously for a little under a year. So i have to keep my hair kind of long.
on the other hand i hate having too long hair because it feels like i'm frauding and i have to keep adjusting it.

Fellow hairline receders, how do you manage haircuts? Do you keep your hair longer?
