I believe the human condition is incredibly limited. Just as a monkey cannot understand physics and philosophy there is so much we still cannot understand. Imagine what we could achieve if we are able to transcend another cognitive event horizon as big as when we went from monkey to man? It is possible to suspend these chemical processes if it is begun before complete death. Meaning you could then either start them up from where they left off or read them onto a computer and then simulate their outputs using an abstract analogy.

Which is why you should do everything you possibly can to go as far as you can even if that includes preserving your brain to be uploaded. I bet in 50 years there will be some really advanced bio preservation tech. True mind uploading may not become possible for at least 2 centuries.
Mind uploading seems bs. Even if it happened how could you be confident youll wake up as your uploated self. It could just be a perfect imitation of you with its own consciousness. Could even have your memories and believe it was you uploaded.
Imagine what would happen if you uploaded your mind slowly. Your neurons would be slowly replaced and you wouldn't be able to notice the change as your brain was peeled off layer by layer.
