I know two extremely attractive people (well one of them used to be at the very least) that haven't lived the "ideal" life most would assume.

My uncle modelled quite a bit in his late teens, top-tier bone structure and with all of these crazy stories about women from back then (he continued to "slay" many years after that actually, even while borderline fat since his bone structure was just that good).

Currently he's pushing 40, still lives at home and has battled with a severe drug addiction over time ("severe" because he's ended up in a mental hospital multiple times). Based on what my parents and I have seen, these are most definitely hard drugs that he's been abusing. Also, keep in mind that he could still fix himself up lookswise - and I'm sure he knows this too.

Then there's a relative that I have, she's a girl in her teens that is objectively very good looking (could easily model, etc...). Anyway, I've heard a bunch of stories about the fact she has a severe mental disorder, to the point where it's often hard for her to function.

It's interesting to think about to be honest, the societal expectations is that good looks entitle one to a good life.

If we include surgery and some experimental procedures, almost anyone can become at least somewhat good looking.

well you can always improve your looks, and while you can't erase the past, you can build a better future for yourself. Unless those sad moments were recorded, no one would even remember them, except you.

Surgery can improve most ppl yeah, but they often cost 100s of thousands if you need a full face recomp and that’s just not realistic for most

Also ppl get botched often, not necessarily catastrophically but they end up with a very uncanny appearance
