There is no "further ahead" in evolution. It's not a straight line with a set goal. It's a more like a tree branching out into various directions. Especially because it's not an objectively superior trait and so there's no reason to believe that with enough time other populations would've eventually gone in that direction as well.

But it's still a good point to bring up, it's possible the same kind of genetic mutation that causes autism ended up getting spread in the entire population.

Nah, I don't believe in that meme, I will acknowledge true superiority when I see it. Obviously tall height, forward growth, high iq, etc are all objectively superior traits. But sacrificing social skills to be colder and more logic driven is not always a net positive. So much so that asian populations are in decline and they have the highest suicide rate.

These social norms change all the time tho. The social environment in which asians evolved their current personality traits doesn't even exist anymore. Their societies were extremely collectivist and strict, standing out in any way could get you killed. So being an emotional "robot" was beneficial in that specific social environment. However times have changed and it's not like that anymore. Now Asians are considered socially inept which is a negative.

A true superior trait is a trait that is a net positive irrespective of the environment, otherwise it's not a superior trait, but just a different trait specified for a niche environment. True superiority is found in adaptability. Being an autist is not the most adaptable of traits that will help you be more successful regardless of the constantly changing environment.
