asking for makeup

I originally wanted fraud with concealer only but now I don’t care anymore. I just want to alter my face into anything purely for the fun of it.

Unfortunately, I’m not sure how to break it to my parents. I don't care about my brother or sister’s opinions, it's mostly my dad; I don’t want him to see me as a failure.
I’ve been defending myself against emo and gay accusations from my family for quite a while so bringing up makeup will just certify their point and make me look ass.

Both of my parents are really open-minded and always say they don’t care what I do as long as I'm happy. I might just be overthinking things and worrying about what they might subconsciously think and not say to me but that’s really the only thing that's holding me back.


Has anyone gone through similar waters and if so, how did you handle it?

I have no money to my name as i am still underage. And even if i did, i simply cannot just exit my room one day as a totally different person, keeping them aware of my decisions and mentally preparing them is an essential in my opinion.

The makeup style I would like to pull off is quite 'alternative' and could be considered somewhat feminine. However, I want to clarify that I am not gay, though others might consider me emo, it's mostly the "older" look my parents will have on my interest that suppresses my want for it.

I often put some but to look natural and not in an alt way so mine is way more easier to pull off and to hide it from everybody

but you could say that you probably feel more confident and comfortable with it than when you don’t wear it, that it’s really who you are

my parents won't deny me anything when it comes to clothing and makeup as long as it doesn't modify my actual appearance at the end of the day and i love them for that. But fuck, the last thing i want to do is assume I'm a emo twink after slowly becoming one

Glad, that someone out there has a decent family. My mom once freaked out when I was shaving my legs as a teenager(long time ago) lol.

How old are you btw? I think moving out and doing one's own thing is the most healthiest way to approach when it comes to change. Because usually most people will try to stop you even if it's just healthy diet.

i'm always grateful towards my parents, i do understand why they want me natural but it still makes me mad

16 1/2 right now, i count on moving out the house as soon as possible and my mom understands this, even if it means i have to live at a slave, minimum wage job, eating instant noodles alone in another country, it will make me so much happier overall.

you can experiment with drugstore makeup before buying actual good products make sure to look if its acne free before hand ifc
