Asymmetrical jaw

My jaw is asymmetrical and I got a metal thing( don’t know what’s it called) to fix my asymmetry. But sadly it didn’t work much and maybe not at all. So they will put some so called “shoes” in the back of my mouth to make my jaw shift to the other way, but if that don’t work out what should I do then?
