had the idea to arrange all the different ways to be more attractive in a diagram as a quick thing you can reference to evaluate yourself. styled after an RPG skill tree, you can think of it in terms of how much you have invested in each category. someone who has "maxed out" the skill tree is perfect at everything. the attributes are grouped according to their relation to each other. for instance, a mohawk haircut wouldn't really mesh well with a nice suit, even if they're of a good quality when judged in a vacuum. i'll give a brief summary of each category and attribute, many are self-explanatory.
categories:
win condition: the thing you want. likely sex, but this skill tree could be applied to anything related to socializing.
game theory: your ability to communicate.
game theory approach: these determine whether or not you have a relationship with the other parties involved.
hot: communication with people you know. the better you know them, the better you'll do.
cold: communication with strangers. this is entirely contingent on your investment in secondary attributes.
game theory attributes: your communication skills. how you invest in one will impact the others.
personality: get in where you fit in. be likeable around similar people. this can gate you out of certain things. an honest person should not fraud, for example.
jester: your ability to entertain others. this depends on the setting. you probably shouldn't crack jokes at a funeral, but maybe you could give a heartfelt speech.
expertise: your contribution. are you knowledgeable? are you intelligent? do you have a life? do you have anything to say that's actually worth hearing?
rizz: understanding of social cues, nonverbal communication, etc. we all know what charisma is.
lookism: your appearance.
Fashion category: your personal sense of style. these are all highly contingent upon each other.
cosmetics: all the ancillaries. goths might go for black lipstick and tattoos, for example. not everyone will want investment in this category.
hair: is your cut good? does it match your face? does it match your clothes?
fit: your wardrobe, jewlery, accessories, etc. and how well you chose them. dress appropriately.
genes category: your body. what you can and can't do with the cards you were dealt. investment here is capped differently for everyone.
health: things that actually improve your physical quality of life. eat right, get your steps in, shower with the right products.
aesthetic: your face, your bone structure, your race, or any other (mostly) immutable feature of your appearance.
gains: your fitness goals. are you trying to get huge or fit in those old jeans again?
pharma: drugs that alter your appearance beyond a natural state. steroids, peptides, etc. related to health but distinct.
fraud category: fake it till you make it. definitely not for everyone. some things are way more extreme than others.
makeup: hide facial defects or pretend to have features that you don't. mostly for women. i guess some guys are getting into this now?
prosthetics: these are worn items that change how your body looks under clothing. fake asses, packers, shoulder pads, etc.
surgery: remember how i said mostly immutable? implanted tits, shaved jaws, liposuction. science will do for you what god wouldn't.
you guys know more about this stuff than me, so feel free to alter this or add things i missed.
