Mental health/illness matters more than looks to be honest. Looks can certainly be a contributing factor, but neurodivergence correlates to an even greater extent, and you're disregarding mental illness as something that can develop independently. You may say "I'd rather have a mental illness than be ugly!", but percentile for percentile, I don't think it's that easy of a choice.

20th percentile looks versus 20th percentile mental health is comparable in some aspects, but being in the bottom 2% for mental health is really, really bad—arguably even worse than the equivalent percentile in looks. You do get haters plus SOMETIMES attempts at bullying but attractive people generally brush it off since they are so validated usually from attention anyway and file haters as being the insecure losers. I addressed this? Trauma (besides proper PTSD) doesn't compare to proper mental illness, and certainly not looks related trauma jfl. Being a sad normie and hating your life is nothing compared to wanting to scrape your skin off; it's nothing compared to being chemically beyond sad and having no emotional buffer; it's nothing compared to the paranoia of seeing things you shouldn't. You're making this statement from the perspective of someone who has never actually dealt with something like this.

70% of BPD victims attempt to take their own life, and 10% actually end it. There are plenty of ugly people who are content with their lives too. No one with severe mental illness enjoys their life. This severity of mental illness is far more common than the facial deformity you would have to compare it to.
