If you want to know enough to buy a car that fits you, it's only about minor things, like the year of manifacture, mileage, all safety features. You can simply ask your friends about this or a car salesman (they are known to be liars, but these are minor things, just don't spend too much money on a new car).
If you want to know as much as a technician, that's a level of knowledge that only very few people have. Google, Youtube, asking a technician, become a technician, there maybe some books you can find on Amazon.
