Dirty bulking is fine so as long as you eat enough protein (1.8g protein per kg of body weight per day) and keep a close eye on the weight scale and don't go up too much in weight too fast. Make sure to get a good amount of carbs and some protein before lifting. And gorge on carbohydrates and protein (the ideal ratio is 3-to-1) after working out.

Ideally you shouldn't be going up more than 0.25-0.5% of your body weight per week. But since I'm scrawny, I've been gunning for .75-1 lbs/week. My 7-day average increased 5.6 lbs in the last 43 days. +0.91 lbs/week (+0.68% body weight/week). I started out my bulk at 128.14 lbs 7-day average. Now I'm at 137.06 lbs 7-day avg. I weighed in at 138 lbs this morning after I gorged on a 200g bag of Ruffles Sour Cream N Onion potato chips after my workout yesterday (1,040 calories). I also put scoops of whey protein powder and 2% milk in my shaker bottle with a blender ball to get my protein in after a workout too. Since chips is mostly just fat and carbs. There's only 16g protein per 1,040 calories in those chips.

Despite gaining 8.91 lbs in my 7-day average in the last 101.5 days (14.5 weeks), +.61 lbs/week, +0.46% body weight/week eating like shit, I only lost a little bit of ab definition. Most of my new weight is muscle. I don't think the quality of carbohydrates and fats really matters when it comes to bulking. I think so as long as you don't consume too many calories too fast, I think you're okay.

My routine recently is to down a mass gainer shake (2 53cc scoops) plus have a breakfast with some protein (otherwise I'll have 1-2 53cc scoops of whey protein with milk as well) before a workout and then gorge on cheese puffs and potato chips after a workout. And down that a whey protein milkshake (usually 2 53cc scoops). And then if I gained too much weight (a lot of it is just water retention and shit in my colon) I'll eat three small meals per day plus whey protein shakes mixed with 2% milk on my rest day.

you need several extensive bulks before you'll break out of dyel tier, this is also what separates the physiques of those who have done it from the people that think they can just lean bulk because they're too afraid of losing their abs, they think those physiques are unachievable because they're never able to grind through the period where you look like shit and cut prematurely.
