After a year of consultations & personal research, here's some of what I've learned. I'll be shilling two procedures I've decided to undergo: AGGA and deviated septum repair. I'll come back here one last time in 6 months to report before & after pics, and I'll respond to questions and banter tonight. Dentists and orthodontists will often lie to you if it gives them a profit, so ALWAYS get a second opinion.
You're a maxillalet. How did things get this way in the first place? Two causes: bad tongue posture and mouthbreathing, especially in early childhood. You hopefully already know this much.
You need a two-pronged approach to achieve your genetic potential: 1)restore facial bones to your natty limit, and 2) develop proper posture to maintain your gains.
Restoring Facial Bones to Natty Limit
Fuck a bimax, fuck a Lefort, fuck a cheekbone implant, fuck anything that isn't AGGA. AGGA works how you wish mewing did. It fixes TMJ and restores your facial bones to their natural limit, regardless of your current age. It repositions the upper & lower jaws in ANY direction to the exact position that is most comfortable and most attractive.
In the 21st century, there is literally never a case where bimax/jaw surgery can outperform an AGGA. Modern dentistry/orthodontistry moves VERY slowly, so many orthos still do these operations because it makes them tons of money. Only TMJ & AGGA specialists have a strong understanding of how complex the jaw really is.
Most orthodontists don't do this procedure, so if you bring it up they won't even refer you to a specialist because they won't get a dime for doing it. Instead they'll recommend extracting teeth (further recessing your face) or breaking your jaw, which will move your palate but not your cheekbones, leaving you looking Mongoloid from a side profile. Plus if you have TMJ, this approach rarely fixes it. Just search "AGGA specialist (your state)" and you'll find someone.
Improving Tongue Posture
Many people have poor tongue posture in their sleep due to a deviated septum. Do you often wake up with a super dry mouth? Find yourself usually breathing thru one nostril? Snore? This is you. Consult an ENT (ear nose & throat) doc about fixing it. It's usually an in-and-out procedure that results in a lifetime of gains.
I'll add more info depending on what kind of questions/banter this post receives.
