No, hair would rather insulate and retain heat
Baldness is a sign that you have bad regeneration or wound healing ability (aka lactic acidosis over normal cellular respiration (CO2)).
If it was intended by nature or your body to go bald because of some dubious "evolutionary advantage", why doesnt the body shed all hair at once (with no sparse left overs like thinning into those norwood shapes).
I can also bet that balding people oftenly have problems with Endotoxins overall (White tongue, easy to get plaque, fat around abs and love handles). Dandruff is also claimed to be the predecessor of the typical balding shape
