Another thing that pisses me off about most barbers - not only will they shave the hair on the back of the head with a far too great a gradient - exaggerating the occiput, but they'll frequently "round off" the back of the head, rather than squaring it off instead.

Look at the pics again, the pic on the right actually extends out further to the left than the pic on the right does. I haven't reduced the size of this guys head AT ALL.

What hairstyle should a man get for a concave face?

at least consider:

* full volume around the back erea of the upper neck
* Sculpt fringes to cover a large forehead and/BUT style them with little volume. MOST fringes are by default styled by hairdressers with alot of volume, but for concave it chould not be, VERY LITTLE VOLUME in fringe , the less the better I guess.
