Fairly lean now but every workout session is dreaded now I now understand roiders better

You need to time your carbs properly, meaning eat a larger portion of your day’s carbs in the hour before and after the gym. Outside of that chunk of time, you can eat lower carb and higher protein/fat. Cutting will make your workouts suffer to some degree regardless, but going to the gym with 0 muscle glycogen on hand makes it worse
