Here are the basic forum etiquettes, in case anyone is unsure and would prefer not to find out the rules only after being removed from existence:

  1. Post in the correct section.
If you’re unsure which section is correct, choose the one that feels the least incorrect. This usually works.
  2. Avoid spam.
This includes posting the same thing repeatedly, posting nothing disguised as something, or posting something that reads like it was splurged by a horse faced syrian trying to replicate a bateman voice.
  3. Stay on-topic.
If the thread is about jawlines, don’t suddenly bring up your opinions on municipal parking laws. Nobody benefits.
  4. Keep arguments civil.
You can disagree, but try not to melt down publicly. If you feel like typing something that sounds like a rage seizure, maybe just… don’t.
  5. No personal attacks.
Critique ideas, not the person behind the ideas, even if their ideas make you question human evolution.
  6. Don’t post illegal or questionable content.
If it makes you think “should I post this?” the answer is no. The internal hesitation is already your answer.
  7. Use common sense.
Or at least a convincing imitation of it. Most issues can be avoided with this single step, yet somehow aren’t.
  8. Respect moderators and staff.
They have buttons that do things. You don’t want to discover exactly what those things are.
  9. Keep posts readable.
Punctuation exists. It’s not mandatory, but it helps reduce the feeling that someone is shouting into bonnie's blue her asshole.
  10. Contribute something.
Even a small, mildly useful thought is better than the digital equivalent of leaving a chair empty in a room and calling it content.

If these rules are followed even loosely, most users can avoid accidental bans and the existential confusion that follows. ☕
