Batman reading order guide

Also the games

But the comics are way less popular even though they contain the best interpretations of Batman

There’s a misconception that comic books are boring or that you have to read 1000s of issues to understand them which is simply not true

So if you have ever wanted to read comics here’s my beginner reading order:

Batman year one
Batman long halloween
Batman dark victory
Batman hush (you can skip this)

Now you should be acquainted with the main cast and some of the villains… if you like it you should pick up a run. A run is basically a storyline by one writer in main continuity at the time.

I would recommend

Batman knightfall (bane as a mastermind)
Batman by Paul dini (this is amazing)
Batman by Grant Morrison (establishes Damian Wayne)
Tim drake compendium
Batman new 52

These are expensive so likely only 1 will be in the budget

Choose wisely!

After this just pick what interests you

I would recommend using the batman Reddit (I know Reddit sucks but not all subreddits are bad) and the DC comics subreddit
